After 18 months of being a management advisor to the President of the Board, I joined the company (Apr’00). My task was to implement the previously prepared BPR project (redesign of main strategies, processes & systems, organizational structures and the corporate culture). Results had come pretty soon. The sales and marketing team was leading the changes. The refreshed own brands (Animals, Hilton) achieved the status of leaders in their categories. Newly built up brands (Terra Zoo; Aqua Zoo) were capturing the market very fast. Already in 2001, Euro-Zoo, from one of the largest, became the unchallenged leader in the polish pet industry. In late 2003, I took over the management of E-Z’s sister company - Zoo Natura (pet store chain). Aim: to prevent its bankruptcy. We broke the bad trends and to spring 2006 three new stores were opened (Poznań, Katowice, Lublin), and one was moved to almost 3 times bigger location (Zakopianka).
