Responsibilities:
- 2nd/3rd line support for UK mainly also US/AUS (where applicable) divisions of Study Group
- planning and maintaining hardware Servers infrastructure (Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 Active Directory, MS Exchange 2010 ), 1st line on-site support for WIN XP/7 machines, 4 different sites in Cambridge, ad hoc support for Oxford/Brighton/Sussex/Surrey sites,
- responsible for administering and maintaining VMware infrastructure recently migrated to VSphere 4
- responsible for maintaining software deployment infrastructure Kace1100 by Dell for 1100+ machines across UK division
- responsible for maintaining image deployment infrastructure Kace2000 by Dell for UK division
- VLE Administrator for Linux Ubuntu based Moodle 2.4.x UK infrastructure with 15000+ Students
- entrance level configuration and maintaining Cisco and Dell network switches/AP's
- responsible for administering SQL based SERCO timetable software for 4 UK schools,
- setting-up and maintaining of Smart Board applications and Cutting Edge Software,
- maintaining on-sites phone systems analogue/digital/VoIP
- setting up VPN connections, remote support ( Dame Ware, Microsoft Remote Console where available )
- responsibility for effective installation, configuration and maintenance of system hardware/software
- making backup copies, configuring LAN, WAN, Wireless network and protocols, anti-virus, anti-spying software
- daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of the hardware, servers resources, system and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, verifying scheduled jobs completion as backups etc.
