Product Manager
Be accountable for the department performance and manage it in the most cost effective manner, operating to agreed budget performance indicators to ensure Business Plan targets are consistently achieved.
Develop Team Leaders and teams to secure the best from employees working in the department , creating a team based, supportive structure encouraging optimum flexibility to the satisfaction of the departments internal and external customers.
The emphasis of the job is on leadership, planning, people development and the achievement of business goals through continuous improvement. The scope is to build a flexible trained team, which by daily communication with the Team Leaders understands the company’s requirements. . The Product Manager is responsible of the module/lines performance, providing guidance to Team Leaders and reporting on the overall performance of the module/lines, recommending actions where adverse results arise. In particular, the responsibilities of the job are:-
• Organise daily performance reporting and procedures and communicate to Senior
Management Team
• Plan the resources necessary for the department to meet the Annual Business Plan and justify any
expenditure requirements on people or equipment.
• Organise support function input whenever improvements are required which are outside
the areas capability.
• Control and schedule materials into, around and leaving the lines to ensure the plans
requirements are met.
• Undertake disciplinary/capability action as required.
• To ensure Team Leaders meet the daily/weekly manufacturing plan reporting with solutions
on any shortfalls.
• Ensure that product leaving the area conforms 100%.to quality standard.
• Layout the manufacturing cell to gain efficiency improvement and justify capital expenditure
showing payback calculations.
• Manage the performance of Team Leaders & Team Members

Shift Manager
• Direct and manage production team leaders and members in delivering production targets.
• Ensure Standard Work documentation is in place and employees are trained accordingly.
• Plan production schedules in line with customer requirements.
• Identify and resolve problems via Workplace Audits and 3C processes.
• Assist in training and developing the team.
• Practice, promote and coach employees using tools and techniques to facilitate.
• Lead continuous improvement practices.
• Manage the performance of team leaders and team members.
• Promote good team working and provide excellent leadership to ensure team is motivated.
• Maintain full and safe working practices in line with the health & safety framework.
• Maintain housekeeping standards. Conduct 6S audits and track results.
• Undertake disciplinary/capability action as required.
• Responsible for manpower planning and holiday scheduling. Be flexible in the organisation of resources.
• Co-lead and implement change initiatives for assigned area
• Understand and respond to requirements of internal customers.
• Responsible for building highly effective and engaged teams.
• Encourage open, two-way communication and drive improvement in employee engagement scores.
• Establish relationships with other functions and work with them to solve production problems.
• Provide accurate and timely collection and reporting of data. Effectively communicate key performance metrics to management.
• Ensure Standard Work documentation is in place and employees are trained accordingly.
• Plan production schedules in line with customer requirements.
• Identify and resolve problems via Workplace Audits and 3C processes.
• Assist in training and developing the team.
