Senior Biomedical Engineer (Deputy Manager)

Delegated Authority: Second-in-Line to Manager / Departmental Supervisor (Team Leader)
Responsibilities: I was responsible for equipment upkeep for the Radiology, ICUs and OTs. In addition to regular equipment maintenance, as a second in line for the department I was supervising as well as managing a team of eight engineers and technicians and controlling the routine work flow for the department.
The core work responsibility involved -
a.Managing and Scheduling the periodic Calibration of Equipments.
b.Inventory Management for Overall Equipment availability.
c.Laying down terms and conditions as a support hand of Procurement committee forpurchase of Healthcare equipments.
Additionally I also worked as;
a.Active member of Accreditation Committee for JCI (Joint Commission International –An International Accreditation for Hospitals) and NABH (National Accreditation Boardfor Hospitals – A National Accreditation for Hospitals), for conducting trainings forSOPs and respective Protocols to the concerned staff.
b.Supervisor for generation of Quality Management data for Continuous QualityImprovement for the delegated department.
c.Supervisor for the operations and maintenance of Management Information System -CMMIS (Computerized Maintenance Management Information System.
d.Active part of Business Development Team where I worked for strategic planning of newclientele generation for the company in order to expand the business both on national andinternational grounds.
e.Supervisor of training committee for both, refresher for existing employees andorientation of new employees, pertaining to training module development and trainingdelivery operations, care take and maintenance of the related equipment.
In past tenure with Apollo Hospitals, we had gone through One JCI Assessment, Three NABH assessments (2 for the Hospital and 1 for the Blood Bank) and subsequent Three NABL assessments as well, with no Non-compliance received for the biomedical equipment care.

Responsibilities: I handled various Medical Equipments installed in different department of hospital, specifically Radiology, ICUs and OTs.In addition to equipment maintenance.
In the role as a Deputy to the departmental Manager, I dealt with job responsibilities such as;
1. Supervision of Installation and Commissioning of various Instruments.
2. Planning and Scheduling of periodic Preventive / Breakdown Maintenance.
3. Design and Implementation of Standard Protocols to be followed during maintenance procedures.
4. Supervision of Complete Complaint Management & Documentation related to Equipment Maintenance.
5. Part of Purchase Committee; for product specification / vendor selection for equipments.
6. Training delivery to sub-ordinates related to operation and regular maintenance.
I have been an active participant for establishing essential procedures and protocols, necessary for pursuing NABH certification.
