PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny started its operations on August 1, 2014. Separating the new entity from the existing organizational structure of PGNiG SA has been dictated by legal considerations and is yet another step towards full liberalization of the natural gas market in Poland. As a result of the implemented organizational change, PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny is taking over from PGNiG the customer service as well as the rights and obligations related to the sale of gaseous fuels.

IT Systems Maintenance Director

As IT Systems Maintenance Director he modernized the hardware infrastructure of Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers (CEPIK) and provided continuation maintenance over 2012-2014. He managed the implementation of a number of solutions, which aimed at ensuring the safety and reliability of CEPiK. Considering the CEPiK infrastructure becoming outdated, numerous technical problems, system failures and organizational issues associated with running CEPIK that was a difficult and complex undertaking. The goal of the project was to achieve the full functionality of Secondary Data Center for CEPiK system, which greatly increased the level of reliability and security of the system.
He successfully performed a complex and risky operation of relocating the infrastructure of Electronic Population Records (PESEL) and related systems. He also diagnosed the critical state of PESEL infrastructure, developed a recovery plan and managed the project of moving it to a safe new location. It was a complex project as the infrastructure of PESEL is extremely heterogeneous and its oldest elements are based on solutions from the 70s and 80s. The operation, nicknamed "the Transplant of the State Heart", was carried out with great precision, proceeded according to plan and finished with a great success.
He supervised the creation of Integrated Infrastructure of State Records (ZIR), which aimed to integrate technical solutions of the key systems to improve the functioning of the state. By creating ZIR he launched an independent, isolated environment while optimizing the development and maintenance costs and ensuring increased security, reliability and availability of state registers.

National Digital Archives
As IT manager he contributed to forming the National Digital Archive (NAC), which was established in 2008, and to digitalizing the national archives. As a team manager, he supervised the construction of NAC equipment infrastructure. He also played a crucial part in creating the Integrated Archives Information System (ZoSIA) by inventing a modern IT environment together with the technical infrastructure for the needs of national archives' digital resources. He designed and implemented solutions related to digitalization of archival resources, their storage and Internet access. All these works were of pioneer character and made a contribution to forming the fundaments of digital archives in Poland.
