Project scope:

Build robust and scalable software for business-critical, web-based applications
Build eye-catching, functional, efficient, and reusable web and mobile-based sites that drive these web applications
Design, build, test, document, and maintain APIs and integrations
Ensure quality control using industry-standard techniques such as automated testing, pairing, and code review
Work with the Product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into an effective technical solution
Document technical design and analysis work
Assess current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Build mock-ups or prototypes to explore and troubleshoot new initiatives
Work with UX designers to review designs, implement new features, and ensure user experience is top-level
Explore new ideas and emerging technologies, develop prototypes quickly
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, positively influence current ways of working, leading by example
Mentor and coach colleagues in both engineering and business domain subjects towards building their abilities and skills
Advice regarding system architecture and suggest improvements and changes required to support delivery of new functionality

Requirements:

Strong software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, ER modeling)
Professional experience with a server-side languages, ideally JVM-based (Java and Kotlin)
Professional experience building web-based single-page applications, using React/Typescript or an equivalent
Knowledge of front-end development, ability to build rich user interfaces following a responsive design
HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility
Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, familiar with standard logging and monitoring tools used to investigate issues
Experience with CI and CD
Previous experience in software development in the financial markets, Fintech, or Insurtech is preferable
Good working knowledge of software development within Agile environments
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, negotiation, and planning
Pro-active, self-motivated, and able to use own initiative
Ready to lead engineering team discussions and meetings
Fluent English
