So far, during my time with the Client, my tasks included:
- Maintaining and upgrading SSAS cubes.
- Creating Jasper and Microsoft Reporting Services reports.
- Troubleshooting user problems connected with SSAS cubes (permissions, missing data, questions about the details of the measures used in the cube).
- Analyzing the structure of all main applications used by the Client and suggesting ways to implement an unified authentication system. I am now responsible for the implementation of this system and the go-to person for other teams that are implementing this system in the Client's applications
- Created a new SSAS cube based on linked dimensions and measure groups. This cube uses roles to limit dimension data.
- Created a small application in C# that helps save and reload from a database the names and custom properties of linked measures groups and roles in a SSAS cubes.
- Gathered information about and tested multiple data visualization tools (in example: MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, QlikView). I have found Tableau to be the best match for the Client. I have reported my analysis to the Client's CIO. I am now responsible for maintaining a Tableau Server and implementation of visually detailed reports and documents.
