Candidate Consultant/ Project Coordinator
• My main duties involved identifying, attracting, engaging and recruiting candidates onto specific government funded programmes. Developing relationships with candidates ensuring they were given support and guidance where applicable, including: maintaining individual action plans, mentoring on soft skills, key skills training and support, life skills training and support, occupational signposting. Interviewing and assessing candidates, liaising with Account Managers and making referrals regarding potential employment, obtaining substantive feedback on any unsuccessful interviews and incorporating it into action plans, drawing the candidate closer to the labour market. Initiating, developing and maintaining working relationships with partner organisations and training providers to act as gateways for support outside the boundaries of the contract, as well as reference points for candidates entering the program. Attending networking meetings as and when required.
• In January 2008, I was promoted to Candidate Consultant & Project Coordinator for a new contract in Waltham Forest – Worknet delivered by Atwork – official job brokerage and training provider for the Olympic Games 2012. Here, I set up 2 new offices, dealt with all aspects of marketing and outreach, supervised 5 members of staff (3 CC’s & 2 AM’s). I represented my company at a number of council meetings, project meetings and local events. I established good relationships with employers, training providers, local partners and organisations both public and private, with an effective referral system and satisfactory results.
• In addition to my regular duties, responsibilities and targets, I was also in charge of monitoring and motivating staff performance, dealing with all aspects of managing and monitoring 2 offices (Leytonstone and Leyton), conducting regular staff meetings, reporting to my line manager and claims department, dealing with all enquiries and complaints, developing recognition of the company in the local area, monitoring all referrals and providing general assistance.
