Advisory IT Specialist
Advisory IT Specialist, CMS AHT Monitoring Team Leader
As team leader for Cloud Managed Services AHT Monitoring Team in the Delivery Technology & Engineering department of IBM, I was an active contributor to the CMS 1.x, 2.x and 3.x projects. I was also responsible for monitoring services on clients’ workstations.
In particular:
- Installing, configuring and maintaining ITM Monitoring agents
- Managing monitoring infrastructure services
- Working on service requests
- Reacting to monitoring events
- Troubleshooting monitoring issues, investigating event workflows throughout the monitoring infrastructure
- Coding monitoring solutions in close cooperation with CMS architects
Used technologies:
- DB2, Sybase. Oracle, MS SQL, HANA, WebSphere App Server, WebSphere MQ, WebLogic, MS II. Apache Tomcat, SAP
- IBM Netcool/Omnibus Suite, Global Systems Management Architecture
Successes:
- Based on my analysis and cooperation with ITM developers, I managed to open many defects which resulted in creation of officials fix packs and patches to repair errors in current monitoring agents versions.
- I also created, tested and implemented an extension of the CMS functionality, by writing a bash script which allows to customize LDS filters not only per customer and technologies but also per hostname. This enabled, in special cases, to adjust the system to customer requirements.
