Department Manager
The internship included managing all departments of the hotel. I was being transferred from one department into another one so that to get to know organisation of the American company. I was working in the following roles:
Sales and Marketing Manager (4 months)
• Managing sales team of 3. Responsible for monitoring the team, training and coaching. Responsible for meeting sales targets.
• Comparing our offer with offers of the competitors, analysing collected data and tendency on the market. Changing marketing and pricing accordingly.
• Negotiating contracts with suppliers. Providing marketing stock to the hotel. Advertising. Merchandising of services.
Customer Service & Operations Manager (8 months)
• Managing customer service and front desk staff (team of 8 employees): monitoring, coaching etc.
• Responsible for smooth resolving of all complaints by customer service team. Improving operation of our hotel using constructively complaints and guests suggestions.
• Ensuring smooth administrative operations of the department: analysis and improvement of all operations connected with customer services, reservations, organization of events, inter- and intra- communication of the hotel.
Finance Trainee Manager (6 months)
• Responsible for the day to day finance operations (administration connected with pay – cheques).
• Overlooking all the contracts in order to keep the profitability at the correct level.
• Analysing expenses for human resources in order to avoid overstaffing in the certain months.
