Since joining Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners (DMP) I have worked on numerous high profile projects in the commercial, cultural, educational and residential sectors as indicated below. This work has involved comprehensive structural design of steel, concrete, timber, masonry and glass structures as well as further developing my knowledge in computer-aided engineering and technology of building materials. I have been responsible for preparing structural calculation packages, detail and drawing packages at all stages of construction design. This has involved close working with other Engineers and Technicians as well as liaising with Architects and other design team members to ensure coordinate designs are produced.
Also responsibility for issue of drawings and calculation packages to main contractor and other parties involved in contract. Caring of digital and hard copies of technical documents to be up to date in system and file. Skills to operate office equipment like printers, computer terminals, facsimile machines, copy machines, scanners, binder, projector and telephone systems.

My previous boss Tim Macfarlane has provided the following endorsement:
"Lukasz was an effective member of a small well integrated group of six engineers and technicians. He worked on a new seven storey concrete frame building in Central London producing general arrangement and detail drawings. He also prepared drawings and details for facade and structural glass projects and for small complex structural refurbishments. Occasionally he prepared structural steel calculations. His work was accurate, met all deadlines and he fulfilled his duties independently and efficiently. His manner towards the Partners, colleagues and clients was immaculate.

"Lukasz will have been in our employment as a cad technician/cladding draughtsman where he has been trained in the following duties:
The preparation of cladding layout and necessary working detail drawings together with various lists to enable cladding materials, gutters, pipes, flashings and fixing accessories etc to be manufactured/ordered to suit the various contracts being processed by the Company. To read steel layout drawings / architectural drawings and then produce cladding drawings and lists. To liaise with the steel draughtsmen, estimating and contracts departments together with architects, clients and main contractors as necessary to gain approval of details. A certain amount of checking work within the cladding department, site surveys and meetings with clients / architects etc as required. Drawings produced on 2D computer detailing system and lists manually. The cladding computers are networked with the structural steelwork computers which use Tekla X-steel programmes. The company supplies and erects steel framed buildings forming industrial, commercial and agricultural contracts mainly in East Anglia."

I was responsible for preparing steel Erection Plans (GA’s) and details drawings, in the industrial and public building contracts, for American and Canadian main contractors. This has involved close working with other Tekla drafters – responsible for modelling and shop drawings as well as liaising with checkers to ensure drawings are relevant
to drawings and specifications provided by engineers and architects.

Another summer holiday spent in Ireland. Mostly close working with other site operatives, projects focused on new residential schemes.

This work has involved comprehensive landscape contracting including hard and soft landscaping, cooperation with Landscape Architects/Designers and also landscape maintenance.
