The project portfolio with ComputaCenter includes the “Connect” e-commerce system (web site), aimed at the B2B and B2C market, with multiple sites in the Computacenter Group (UK,Germany, France, Benelux). A backend Sales Support / CRM system called “Onetouch”, which includes a Pricing and Task Management module.
The last seven years have seen improvements to these systems, making use of Agile/scrum project management technique. The Systems are based on the Blue Martini (RedPrairie) architecture (Upgraded to 9.5 and currently being upgrade to 10.2 [RedPrairie Commerce 2.0]) making use of Java and J2EE, interfacing to the backend ERP SAP via Biztalk.
A flavour of the sprints:
We have spent some time converting the regression test scripts from manual to automated execution using the products Selenium IDE & RC in the main and experimenting with TestBench-Gold, Ruby/ Watir, and using Silk Performer & Silk Test for performance testing, each with varying results.
Sprints have implemented functionality to all sites, to cater for PunchOut using cXML and OCI with interfaces into Ariba and SAP.
We have implemented credit card processing with 3-D Secure, using the Bibit (World Pay) payment portal.
A more recent sprint has implemented the upgrade of the Blue Martini suite to 10.2 and the database to Oracle 10.g.
The most recent project was the Group implementation of SAP to Germany, UK and France, my main focus was on the Connect and Onetouch implications and the interfaces between SAP and the E-Commerce offerings and to work as the UK Test Manager.

Quality assured a new server based, object oriented systems called JADE, that replaced the mainframe, mortgage and investment system (duration nine months), and the recent mortgage day requirements to meet the Financial Services Authorities rules.
Delivered twenty-five successful projects to blue chip clients, by producing business requirements documentation, and then performing Functional, User Acceptance Testing and Risk Management.
I created a large number of new test scripts and used both manual and automated testing techniques inherent in the JADE system, with some exposure to QA Run and QA Director. Logged and tracked faults and escalated as required via the Change Control Management System.
I ran peer group reviews of Business Requirements documentation ensuring quality and standards are adhered to and have been instrumental in setting these standards up and have the role of Business Analysis / QA training material co-ordination.

I had overall responsibility for the running of the Technology department – reporting directly to the board of Directors, coordinating the efforts of the Technology and QA functions, consisting of ten IT professionals. The areas of responsibility included the back end systems, warehouse technologies and the high profile, award winning (New Media Age Health & Leisure website of the year, and Internet Magazine’s Site of the Month), e-commerce web site (www.thinknatural.com).
The main project focus was on enhancing the functionality and customer facing offerings of the UK and German web sites. I project managed the system changes and had final say for quality assurance, both hands on testing myself and coordinating the small QA function.

My role on the £35 million Group ERP implementation project of SAP ERP Central Components ( SAP ECC 6.0 [ FI,CO,SD,MM,PP,QM,HR]), is as UK Group ERP Test Manager for the role out to UK and Germany and with the French project now under way, where I am assisting part time in PMO.
The initial phase went live successfully at start of February 2011 to Computacenter Germany, the UK followed in September 2011.
We worked with Deloittes to install SAP, with all other project streams managed in-house.
Go lives went successfully over the 13/14th August for Germany and August Bank holiday weekend for UK in 2011.
Hyper Care for Group ended on 10th January 2012 with all processes returning to business as usual (BAU) for Germany and the United Kingdom.

I played in goal for much of my time and as a defender (left back).
