Database Administrator
Administrating about 1500 Oracle databases worldwide (France, Switzerland, UK, Sweden, Poland, ect.) at various operation systems (AIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows).
Planning and creating databases, supervision, administration,
backup and recovery performing (RMAN). Cloning (RMAN), moving, upgrading databases, troubleshooting and user support.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Performing day-to-day operational activities in scope of administration of Oracle 8i - 11g
databases as a member of multinational and multicultural team
- 24x7 on call duties
- ITSM7 incidents and problem management
- Pro-actively administration, reacting to events generated by monitoring tools
- Predictive monitoring and management
- Manage database backups (RMAN/DataPump), refresh and duplicate processes
- Take care for HA solutions like RAC, Clusterware, HACMP, DataGuard
- Update of the Global Reference Architecture chapter for DBA
- Suggest and implement changes to Standard Operating Environment
- Management and development of routine batch jobs, shell scripts and automation
- Deployment and configuration of new Oracle database installations & migrations
- Oracle database capacity planning
- Work close to the customers and suggest database related solution during the project phase
- Oracle software inventory management including licensing
- Oracle standard operating environment installations and administration (OID, Grid Infrastructure,
Enterprise Manager Grid Control, ASM).
- Incident Mgmt, Problem Mgmt, Change Mgmt, Configuration Mgmt processes
