Ilkka Cristian Niemi

I am responsible for general management and development of the business unit of Solteq Poland in Wroclaw.

Solteq is a visionary expert of strongly growing multichannel and digital commerce. We create new business for our clients and help them serve their clients in procurement, store network management and online business.

Most our software solutions are based on the solutions of our global partners, such as IBM, Microsoft and SAP, which means that the customers of our clients have a seamless experience of one channel and one store regardless of the shopping channel.

Barona is a multi-service company and its operations comprise Barona recruitment services, outsourcing services from Barona Solutions and accommodation services from Forenom. We recruit nationally around 10,000 professionals each year for jobs in Social and Healthcare, Office, IT, Logistics, Industry and Construction, both on a temporary and on a permanent basis.

Barona was established in 1999 and today we are one of Finland’s largest human resources providers. We also operate in Russian, Estonia, Sweden and soon in Poland.

I was responsible of project and service management in several international F&A nearshoring projects in the target country. Established the BPO SSC of Itella Information in Poland. Additionally supported sales of F&A services for Nordic customers.

Gained a good knowledge and experience in international project and process management.

Worked on a senior accountant position in General ledger team. My tasks were mainly related to month closure and to some miscellaneous tasks of GL team. I started at Capgemini in Customer Master Data team where my main duties were to process different kind of requests related to creation and change of the customer data in SAP. I also participated in quality control of processed tasks within our team. Assistance of the team with Finnish-English translations has been my task as well. Main tools in daily basis are SAP R3 and Excel.

• Gained a good knowledge of SAP R3 and generally of Polish working environment and
culture.

I'm involved with the entire recruitment process from the initial to final stages. This includes finding suitable candidates, presenting them to clients, preparation of job contracts and customer relations. Lately, my work has involved increased sales, project management and business development of new customer projects and regional expansion of Barona. In addition to the duties mentioned above, I also assist Polish workers in their daily and legal issues by using Polish language.

• Gained extensive knowledge of the Finnish industry. I have conducted several recruitment projects ranging from 1 up to 120 persons, of whom where employed within Finland. The biggest project I have managed was worth of 1M€. Additionally, I have recruited many Polish workers to the Finnish job market.

I was involved in the whole recruitment process from client acquisition, headhunting, interviewing and presentation to clients. My main duties were to search suitable candidates for Talentor´ s assignments which were mostly direct search (headhunting) for a top and middle level management and specialist positions. Client acquisition was an essential par of my role in driving new business. This involved cold calling, follow ups, meeting and influencing with new clients.

• Gained good knowledge of different business areas in Finland as well as profound experience in new client acquisitions.

The main aim of the Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation is the Development of Environmental Industry in Poland. I was part of the 3 person team which carried out the market/competition research for a new environmental web-portal in Poland. I also took part to the development and marketing of web-page www.zzportal.pl

• I linked with several Finnish companies in Poland, therefore, I have existing connections to different Finnish managers

I was 2nd petty officer responsible of Support team (12persons) in The Finnish Navy – FNS Pohjanmaa.
