Every day brings us strange and unbelievable news. Most of them don't get reported by major news stations like the CNN (which is the case this particular time).

You are correct - Jerry Springer is ONLY a show. Yet it generates an audience of millions. Who is the audience?

This one is 100% true, and I've read about it on numerous websites including the BBC.

There is a medical condition known as body dysmorphic disorder which leads people to demand that a surgeon amputates their completely healthy legs.

Apparently some people believe they were born with an extra unwanted leg.

A Scottish doctor, Robert Smith, created a great deal of controversy by agreeing to their demands to have their 'extra' leg removed.

I've always wondered why he didn't just pretend to perform the operations, and simply anaesthetised the patients and claim to have removed their third extra unwanted leg, rather than actually removing a perfectly healthy limb. Imaginary medical complaints warrant imaginary surgical procedures to correct them.
