This would be my favourite all time British comedy clip from the immortal Spike Milligan.

Like 'Le Corbussier et Papin' it is rather crude.

There is an interesting debate - who was better, Milligan or the Pythons?

Certainly, the Pythons borrowed a lot of material from him.

It's also worth noting that the sketch 'one leg too few' by Peter Cook, has been voted the all-time funniest.

As far as the U.K. is concerned, I would say:

1. Spike Milligan
2. Peter Cook
3. Benny Hill

If we were to include all English speaking countries we would also have to include Laurel and Hardy, (although Stan Laurel was a Brit), Barry Humphries and Mel Brooks.
