I used to make less than in my last job after taxes/rent/insurance.
But in US dollars. And there was no ZUS.
Food was cheaper, clothes affordable, and we got snow on postcards from Poland. ;)
I guess Raf knows more about having to support a family; back then, I was a happy dink.
