When my son was born, his grandmother brought me two red plastic balls tied with a string and begged me to tie them to his bed, to drive bad spirits away. The same grandmother who keeps telling me I'm bringing up "a little pagan" because he "doesn't know his prayers". When asked why, she has one argument, "because you've got to believe". I reply that I am a believer. I believe in science and evolution, and my banana bread.

"Jesus Camp" was on TV last night... whatever positive thoughts that may have been laying dormant in the back of my subconscious mind relating to religious upbringing were effectively cleansed.Getting back to the topic however; I often wonder; Poland was pagan for many, many years prior to the 966 Mieszko’s decision to marry into Christianity. Slavs were pane theistic and animistic worshipping nature and spirits within it. Does paganism exist in Poland at all at this point? I mean, given the subject matter of this article, it’s quite obvious that it does, but is it more of a subconscious paganism? Are people simply unaware that these rituals are pagan by default or is it intentional?

So, the first life came to us hopping on crystals, and then after billions of years we got Charlize Theron out of an ape.I think your faith has to be equally strong to believe in this as in anything else out there :))

I think they were onto something.
I'm sure that magnetic fields affect our well being, just like electrical currents, I don't believe that hanging a blessed can of positive ju ju is going to fix traffic however.
How popular is paganism in the UK? It’s amazing how similar our pre-historic [pre-historic as in pre text] cultures actually are. Slavs also believed in fairies, changelings, dwarfs, witches and elder spirits of nature.

I think we can safely assume that any belief system based on worshiping nature would be beneficial to the wellbeing of the entire planet. Harmony brings nothing but balance and positive into our lives; I find it funny that people think that prior to Christianity there was no balance; quite the contrary.

Of course, they are for real. Very real, I should say.
2,600 PLN per one intersection -hehehe! Multiply that by the number of intersections in Warsaw alone, not to mention the whole country. You can accuse 'Śliczna Bufetowa' of anything but ignorance in matters where money is involved. :)

I agree about the traffic. I think accidents are mainly caused by the dickhead driving culture here rather than the underground "vibes" man!
