Lidia I dont believe anyone could honestly answer yes to this question. I'm past that. Still, I always wanted to be married and have kids before I was 30. Mission sort of accomplished.
Come to think of it, if my son had been born when I was 19, he would be 13 now, and I could be living an easier life. I keep telling myself that I always wanted more than one child, but the sheer thought of having to go through all that again scares me.
I know a lot of girls who had their first kid at 19, or even 14 for that matter (hell, yeah), and while some of them simply made their lives miserable by having forgotten to use contraception, some have become quite successful. By the time they got their degrees and started working, the kids were old enough to let the mothers enjoy their lives.
Still, it must be a bitch if you can't really do what your peers do.

Women are having too few kids, not having them at all, having them too old, and so on.

It's all a terrible shame.

Furthermore, it seems to be the less successful who breed the most. Natural selection in reverse.

For the above reasons, yes. I know too many people in their late thirties, who have not yet decided to have kids. And a few tragic stories like a friend of mine, who kept waiting, and waiting, and at 35, she no longer could have kids, just a series of miscarriages.
Just think about it - no kids, a lie-in every weekend, no sleepless nights, no projectile vomiting, no money spent on shoes, schools...

And no unconditional love, little feet tiptoeing to your bed at night because there's a monster under the desk, no first steps...

So, people - go have unprotected sex instead of GLing :)

Why, Benjamin? For some people getting married when they're so young might be just the thing to do.
On the other hand, some people should never get married. Like moi :D

It's tough.
You don't even think you know what love is and what life is about at that age yet.
On the other hand, if one starts working at an early age (like 18, minimum) and taking serious responsibilities on his/her own shoulders, then it MIGHT be acceptable, in case it's not his/her first relationship.

I was 20 when I thought about it, luckily it didn't leave big scars on me.
I don't recommend it though... it is definately too early to think about marriage seriously.

What I think is, 21 might be ideal age to start working.
And 25-27 to think about marriage and try it (like being engaged for sometime) and then about 30 being married and have kids very soon if both sides know what they are doing. There's no sense to delay having kids if both sides want it.

See? Everything is simple. hehe
This is how I see it anyway. I like marriage, as you may know.

So many people in their 20s - in general (which I hate to say)-haven't developed yet a way to know themselves, and a person needs to know himself/chickself before they get married. I like to hear about people I know who are getting married at a later age. I automatically feel confident about their future.

C'mon Joj, you know it better than me, sometimes age doesn't really matter.
I've seen many marriages collapse although everything seemed perfect. And no, it's not because it is easy to get a divorce... it is because mostly it is about luck.
Maybe I know nothing about real life, because I'm a dreamer... but to my experience, sometimes it just don't work, and there's nothing you can do about it.

You`re hopeless! You`ve been keeping repeating it for some time and I wonder if anybody will ever stop you. There`s no curse on you, you`re not weird, you don`t scare off your potential partners when you fall in love with them. Stop it! Now!

I'll buy that. What a person has seen from mom and dad while growing up also has a big influence.

Incidentally, I heard a brief bit on the radio in my car that according to statistics men in Hong Kong are currently the least likely among men of the world (developed world I assume)to get divorced. Number two: Polish men.

Yes, but one man can inseminate countless women if he chooses.

Women have more than a say than men.

It is they who carry the baby, give birth, nurse the child and generally speaking play a greater role in the parenting.
Do you think they are equally unwilling to have children?

They might not always want to be around, but most don't mind the insemination part.

I believe a lot actually enjoy the whole messy process.
