It was a bit hard to dig out the thread but I managed.
I spent last week in the Mosselle region and I must say I got totally infatuated with its rieslings.
They're so innocent, essentially fruity and zesty you can actually start drinking them with breakfast ;) And in Luxembourg they make them slightly effervescent. Now, I'll have to fish for them in our shops before the summer's over.

I'm a complete idiot when in comes to white wines but I have an impression that white wine is tasteless, (nevertheless you can get drunk not noticing it)

Try the verdejo wines from Spain. They do have a distinctive taste. You might also like cava (sparkling). White wines must be properly chilled though.

I tried Cava in Barcelona and I did like it. Then it was Frascati in Rome and now the Mosselle rieslings. As much as I adore red full-bodied dries I must say I'm becoming an advocate of white wines. Maybe it just takes a good sort to appreciate how good they can be.

I used to sneer at my aunt's favorite Liebfraumilch (what a stupid name anyway!) but recently I've found myself thinking it would be nice to have a glass. I must be getting old :(

It's semi-sweet. Saw it also in horrible blue bottles. They're dirt cheap. I drank only trocken rieslings, thou.

I used to date a wine merchant a couple of years ago and, I believe since that time, I've got this liking for Aussie and New Zealand wines :)

Yeah, the wine is rather sweet because it's made especially for me and personally I don't like dry wine. Sometimes he adds sth stronger for more power :)
