I don't believe that a REAL MAN needs to be this masculine, strong being who exudes self-confidence. There needs to be a balance between being strong, self-reliant, confident and sensitive.
On the other hand, a man who allows himself to be CONTINUALLY abused and doesn't do anything about it lacks certain qualities that make him a 100% man, don't you think? Are you attracted to men who can't decide whether they want to be abused or not? I am guessing not. Very similar with women. Women who permit their partners to do whatever they wish with them and to them need to wake up and do something about their destiny. Why live with a monster?

Warren, I never said it was shocking or unacceptable, just following the convo.

By "beating" I meant an occasional spank, not any heavy beating.

I remember my bum meeting my dad's palm a few times, it never left any scars, either physical or on my mental health.

And here come my big news: physical scars, bruises will always heal eventually. Whatever harm done to one's psyche is way more dangerous imo.

Probably that's your business, hehe. If I didn't control myself, I would just be "single again" earlier.
and if someone can't control it and has to lash out, then I would suggest, as Sylwia and Dave, that this person is in dire need of help.
I didn't follow what exactly Sylwia and Dave stated for you to say that, but about "needing help" I'd agree.
Whoever uses violent ways constantly, needs help.
But spanking your kid occasionaly because he/she's done a bad move is merely a mental illness to me (I mean, in case the kid was warned before, with a scary look or with the exact finger that Joj wrote about from his childhood memories :)
I've been threatened, spanked by my mom many times. We used to look at eachother with my older brother and say: "Naah, it didn't hurt me!" after mom leaves the room. I wish she were alive and spank me time to time again! :))

Consequences.
We all gonna experience it. Sooner or later.
How humane we'd been raised and how we behave is a completely individual case but once you stop understanding and behaving like a human, you'll get the "animal" type of warning.
But surely, we need to stay away from people who are more animal than human, or more of a psycho/ill than a normal/healthy people.
