You could've left it for next week's "5 for Friday".Turning 30 didn't have any particular meaning to me. It didn't feel like some special milestone or a borderline. Looking back on it from a 2 year perspective I see it was eveybody else (my folks, colleagues, friends, etc) who made a big deal out of it. To me it was just another b'day: cake, nice company, some pressies, some wine.
Nevertheless I respect everyone who considers the 30th b'day an important moment in life. I simply don't think it's such big a deal.
Maybe my 40th will be different, I don't know. Or the 50th.

I have turned 30 a few times. But strange: I have never celebrated my birthday as an adult. Lumme them full moons every month, though.The numbers are meaningless to me personally.

Happy Birthday!Turning 30 is a bit worse than turning 40 - at least there's more time to reflect on that, though people sometimes worry too much about numbers. At 30, you're no longer a kid, but still young enough for everything life has to offer. A great age to be!!

Nothing special - it came and went like any other birthday. I had a few pints in the local but my life did not change dramatically from the next day on :)

Congratulations, Aga! Now you're really a woman. In hindsight, I feel that the twenties are there for us to screw up, and turning 30 symbolically means that from now on it's serious.So, to say goodbye to stupidity, I drank all the beer in the world, and spent the first two days of my thirties in bed with a hangover!

I'm not a big bday person, I do however agree that 30 is a turning point, or at least it should be. I organized a party (as I do for all my bdays) rented a pub, had some music, friends and family. I am one of those people that like to find reasons to do a free music event for people and what better reason, right?I think teen years are for exploration, twenties are for lust, thirty is when you start growing up.
