I'm something of a connoisseur of advertisements - I used to work for an advertising agency in Poland and videotaped them for the boss.

He always told me they'd never work in PL.

No 1 Carling - shite beer great ads:

The 'Dambusters Ad'. To appreciate this one you really need to have seen the film.

Never seen these before, but the launderette one is good. I quite liked the one with a crab and found myself humming the tune for weeks afterwards. But Carling is so undrinkable it doesn't deserve good ads ;)

Yeah, I found that funny. But on the whole, the first and last ones were a bit too noisy for me, had to watch them twice to get them.

I remember this one (and also one with 'EB' initials pissed in the snow) and, while I can understand why they were banned, I can't see why this had to cost the brand its rightful share of the Polish market. Apparently, since this was all pre-internet era, Polish people had no concept of virus marketing and showed a particular lack of sense of humour... You can still get EB in the UK, but not in Poland!

Oh, exactly! Yet, you surely remember, the same happened to another Polish beer brand - 10,5 with its "luxurious" design and advertising campaign (black & golden logo and bottle labels with typewriter font, TV ads with jazz background, etc.). It was the best advertised beer ever in Poland, IMHO.
