That's good mettle, S. I think it's a good reminder.

I doubt if even any of us in the discussion are disrespectful by nature, however, although we're frequently discourteous, in general. Not me, of course. Them. :)))

I personally agree with all you said. It's right. I'm not a judge, and you're smarter than I am anyways, but I would add a reminder about how we also need to allow free expression within the limits of GL rules whether our expressions are associated with the mainstream, the margin, fringe, however we see those things. We all need to shake things off in our own ways. We say "I might not agree with what you're saying but I would defend your right to say it."

Personally I don't mind such jokes in private talks - one shouldn't forbid others to talk what they want one to another. On the other hand, I don't like them in public, cuz families, friends and supporters of, say, in most cases, president Kaczynski may feel offended. I can assure any1 that if they, in my presence, made fun of any dead or alive member of my family in, say, public transport, it would end very bad for them. So also if any1 loudly jokes about the plane crash like that in public and has his face kicked, shouldn't comply.

Anyway, I'd like to stress that I don't consider an internet forum as a really public "place" from a simply reaso that you cannot be really touched by ppl whom u know just as a picture ;)
