Temat: The Chamber of Horrors

I'm just in the middle of doing subs for a director's commentary (unfortunately, only the director's commentary) to The Omen and with each line am sinking into a darker and eerier mood. Have been browsing through quotes from the Revelation and deciphering the meaning of the Number of the Beast (with Iron Maiden playing from my speakers.
I hope I am not being possessed!

The Omen's a great movie and I'm loving the job of following the director dissecting it. What's your best bet of the horror / thriller world?

Same here, later on when I saw Robert Englund I couldn't believe he looked so... human!

The opening scene and music is brilliant. Probably less so with the end.

This one was weird, as I first saw it through a keyhole (!), when my parents and my aunt and uncle were watching it... There wouldn't have been anything extraordinary about it, except for that the whole thing happened when I visited my relatives in Belarus (then USSR) when I was around 12, and hence the film was in Russian! I was well confused between scare and amusement, it all looked and sounded rather grotesque! ;)) I wonder what it would be like to watch it in Czech! ;))

C'mon, people, what are your best scary moments?

Here's my no. 2: Scream

I suppose, as far as the film is concerned, it follows a pretty predictable line of plot, but what I love the most about it is the mask, which reminds me of the Munch's black and white picture. It's made a great impression on me, since the first time I saw it.

my computer sometimes makes similar sounds as heard in the Grudge(or should I say Ju-On), especially in the last scene.A friend of mine once stayed in my place for the night, I was too sleepy to keep her company so I showed off my hospitality by putting The Grudge on DVD for her to watch and amuse herself with while I instantly fell asleep. The results - she had a sleepless night after watching the movie - she was so afraid of the noise that going up to the computer and turning it off was too much of a brave act for her

True story - right after I finished watching "The Ring"... and I mean right after, my phone rang haha... it was my wife... but it did freak me out.

I think that the beauty of this kind of film is that it isn't about blood or monsters, or people running around with knives shouting. All you need is a creepy looking kid staring at you.

I first saw the film over 20 years ago in the cinema.

I have been obsessed with it ever since.

Not the killings, which were vile and pornographic, but rather the surreality of the film.

Without doubt a masterpiece.
