It does not! Anyway Bovril is beef and Marmite is 100% vegetarian: yeast and salt.

Other uses: apparently works for follicly challenged; just smear it on....:)

Right'o. I've found it. And Bovril. Analysed the jars. Put it down.
Why would anyone eat it? And how do you make a chicken extract?! Refine a chicken? Put it in a bucket and wait for a couple of months? Geez.

I will have to find someone who has it already it the fridge (or basement in a lake house, very far from home) and try a bit, just to confirm my theories about it.

Ok. That's just a theory... And a serious one. Why would you think it's a joke?

So a dishwashing sponge is used to remove the food stains from the dishes, yes? It is absorbent, yes? So, logically, after a week or two of using it every day, it probably is nutritious enough to substitute the meat part in a stew. Alternatively it may be an idea to marinate it in Marmite during the night and bring to work the next day instead of a sandwich.

I'm not urging anyone to do it, but think about it. It may be the solution to the famine problem, if every Friday we would give all our food away and feast on that tasty sponge!
Using organic wash-up liquid in the dishwasher may give us another day on something that can be called "The soup of the week"... or "...from the week". I can provide the sponge. Quite a gourmet sponge, I might add. I have to supervise the experiment, so I can't take any part in it.
