there's a further element to the vegetable question in a date situation:Let's imagine my fave veg is the chilli pepper.
What if the date says: my fave are chillis.
Do I think "bingo!" or do I think "oh no! Too similar! This will be too explosive!"??

Depends on what it is I guess. If the other person is flexible (hates mushrooms but will still allow you to use them in cooking, yet simply ask you not to put any on their plate), then different vegetable choices are ok.It's a challenge though when someone hates what you really like, or what you use often, like garlic, onion, potatoes, red beans, or jalapeños (or even flaczki).
