Temat: SPAM SPAM SPAM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwy2MPT5REFirst of all, I'll make two distinctions:
1. Viagra from only 2 Canadian dollars... Enlarge your love rod .. make her happy... lick my love pump
2. Other adverts
This posting refers to point 2. Point 1 is clearly a pain in the arse and I think we know the difference between point 1 and point 2.
Now then, Spam (I'm talking about point 2) gets a bad press. However, think about it. It's low cost advertising. Think about how much money is spent on marketing a product normally - tv commercials, magazine ads etc... Millions and millions... Who pays the price? The consumers. The advertising cost is factored into the cost of the product. Question: would we prefer to pay less for the products we buy if the producers were able to market them at low cost? I'll give you a concrete example. If I were able to rely entirely on low cost advertising such as "spam" (which everyone hates) the cost of a language course at my school could drop by aproximately 60zl per year. Would people rather save this money? Or would they rather splash out the extra 60zl and be bothered by paid forms of advertising such as leaflet drops and poster campaigns? At least they would be spared the trouble of deleting a message from the inbox. 60zl well spent, clearly.
Or perhaps there are other, cleverer ways to market a product without spending large sums of money...
