For me it was the only way to have a Warsaw "landline" number by Skypein. Here in Izabelin in the forest 20km from Warsaw centre none of the telecom mafia wanted to install me landlines and any internet access. I am forced to use iPlus (the only one with HSDPA) and SkypeIn. By the way I pay a flat fee of 10,95PLN for unlimited domestic landline calls (10,000 minutes per month). Is there anything cheaper around ?

Anyways, friends, my intention for this thread was more about the easy access and free talks hooking you online even more, plus losing control of your talking time with people and checking whether they're online or not. If you don't know what I mean, good for you!!!!!!

I did use Skype before GTalk/GMail video appeared. I'm still using it when the other fails to work. Skype has gone a long way since.I wish guys at Skype worked more on its Mac port. It seems most functionalities appear with at least few months lag compared to its Windows counterparts.
Oh, and one more thing. I never succeeded to make anyone on the other side of the wire to install Skype, configure it for audio/video and actually use it. They always failed to get it to work.
Now with gmailVideo it's really a cup of cake. It just works. Sorry Skype, you're the hero of this thread after all!
