Temat: Routines

Is there a way in which you always do certain things?
Any signs of OCD?
Do your days always start the same and end the same?
Do you find it hard to break your routines?

I usually start my mornings with a cup of coffee in front of my computer while my son is still asleep (or already gone to the grandparents in the summer). When I get to the office, the first thing I do is put my bag down and go get coffee.

I brush my teeth way too often. And my caffeine intake is very high.

After a long period of doing things in the same way, spending my weekends the same way (get up, breakfast, do shopping on Saturday, stow away the food, prepare lunch, pick kid up, have lunch, go to the park...) I sometimes find it hard to do something else, like when I'm away as the Pavlov's dog instinct kicks in, making me uneasy if, instead of running between the aisles in Auchan, I am in bed with a cup of coffee.

I'm pretty much the same.

After the normal wake up-shower-cereal brekkie ritual the first thing I do when I get to work is go get coffee. Actually the coffee machine is half way between the entrance to the building and my office door so coffee is THE first thing I do at work.

Then e-mail check: first corporate, then personal. Then GL.

I don't have any other special routines nor do I exhibit any type of Pavlov's dog-like behavior (that I'm aware of).

I'm trying hard to limit myself to a 3, tops 4 espressos a day (there was a time when I would have 6 or even 7 a day): in the morning at 7.30, then around 11 am, then after lunch around 2pm and then sometimes, not always, between 3-4pm.
