Temat: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Recently, I was doing a little contract work for US Homeland Security. My job was to track Jarek's movements here. You can't just have guys like that loose in your streets. Anyways, there's a surprise about Chicago O'Hare. J. probably doesn't want to complain.

If you go thru O'Hare, make sure you eat before you pass security toward boarding. One would think that there would be shops and restaurants, and we would plan to get something during that wait. Nope. Terminal 5 is a no man's land once you pass security. Too bad I didn't know. I've never been back there. I'm telling you now for future reference.

Strange. Detroit Metro has a lot beyond Security.

What else?

Good point. I think I've complained enuff. O'Hare Int Terminal (5) is pretty.. disappointing for want of a better expression.

Get a grub before you go through security, unless you're a die hard potato chips addict, 'cos that's pretty much all you can count on once you're 'on the other side'. That and a $8 beer. Small one naturally.

What else....

Fly via Newark next time maybe?

Try buying a small coffee in Warsaw's Terminal No.2. It's about 7$ and last time I checked, US-Obetizens make more than Varsovians (or it's just me, single handedly singled out)
:P

PS: Security is a joke. The young girls in army uniforms must be the (very good-looking) offspring of those communism babcias: no brain, no gain.

I've had it all good at Warsaw's airport. Well, almost. Last time I was over on the walizka weight. I just threw away a few magazines. It seemed like a petty overage but hey, who am I to say?

True, however: Like B. mentioned, there was no built-in anxiety about the cost of things there.

It's hard to think of many operations that are more money grubbing than airlines and their allies. Insurance companies. Oil/gas, maybe. Someone needs to do something. Not me, though. You. :)

Maybe I got it all wrong. Maybe those airport coffees make me feel soooo good? Maybe they make me feel high? Maybe they make me believe....

We must have different versions of what complaining is. If that's your complaining I wonder what your contentment feels like. :)

Coincidentally, today I heard someone say that they are in constant apology mode at that terminal. I guess a lot of people get a surprise there. It be more cost effective to have workers take the heat for lack of accomodations than to make a few #@$%^&* hot dogs or something. :)

On my most recent The-Eagle-Has-Landed in Warsaw I was looking for someone to check me, Customs, but noone was around. Empty corridor. Just kept walking through. It just didn't feel traveler natural.

But I got off that plane, got my luggage: Sidewalk. Taxi. City. Just like that. Rented a place.
