A woman from the governing party in Ecuador has proposed that a woman's right to enjoy sexual happiness should be enshrined in the country's law.

Her suggestion has provoked a lively debate in conservative Ecuador.

But her comments have provoked a lively response - mostly, unsurprisingly, from men.

Opposition assembly member, Leonardo Viteri, accused her of trying to decree orgasm by law.

Any comments? Sometimes I think political leaders go a bit too far - does she think making a law which will allow women to have "healthy sex lives" change the whole attitude of both the men and the whole society?
On a less serious note, how would the government control the right to have an orgasm? ;)

10 minutes of foreplay followed by a 10 minutes of oral sex should be obligatory.
State can form a call center for angry women. They can call in and complain about their partners.
And maybe special locks can be produced, and can be applied on men.

I think we need a special unit: The Sex Police... to enforce the right to orgasm! Any infringement on the law, any premature ejaculation, coitus interruptus, disregard for the European Union standard designated foreplay time... and they'll be kicking down your door!!!

A friend of mine used to work in Brussels, as a part of the translators' team for legal issues within the EU. Judging by what she would tell me, I can perfectly imagine the endless hours and tons of paper spent on regulating the right to orgasm. Do you think they should introduce ISO for this as well? HACCP? ;)

I don't know about you all, but i would not want ANYONE by any means regulating or monitoring any part of my sex life EVER. The notion is ridiculous.

I just remembered, under old Brehon law (in force in Ireland centuries ago), there were something like 15 reasons for a man to divorce a woman, and over forty reasons for a woman to divorce a man, one of them being not giving her one often enough!
