Hell yeah. Shit can happen to any family but I think it's so much harder to keep a good relationship when you're both celebrities. There's always so much pressure on you, and you and your partner mingle with the rich and beautiful ;)
We will probably never know what lay behind most of celeb divorce decisions. The money is yet another issue, but I think it was Zsa Zsa Gabor who said "I am a marvelous housekeeper; every time I leave a man I keep his house". I sometimes feel that the huge divorce deals are a kind of compensation for having been through all kinds of hardship, paparazzi included. Is it fair? I don't know, never been married to someone really rich and famous :D

And 24 million pounds, 50 million dollars, is quite a haul!

Some of the vitriol directed against Heather Mills has been OTT, but there can be little doubt this is a seriously unpleasant and undignified woman.

She is described in the Times as "a fromer 'model' who tunnelled her way into a massive seam of gold".

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/art...

Regarding her throwing water over McCartney's lawyer, it must be said that the woman has a face that could make an onion cry.

Here is my thing. I never, EVER understood the judicial justification for the division of wealth. I am not sure how familiar you are with Howard Stern, he's a "shock jock" from NYC, who made millions talking about boobs, masturbation, celebrities and politics. When he got divorced, his wife got half. There should be a law, where whoever man, or woman should be held responsible to prove that they have physically contributed to the wealth that is being split. Howard's wife didn't squat to earn shit. Yet she got half... justification - moral and mental support. OK... let's just let this one slide... they were together for a loooong time. But in case of Paul and the "golden finger"... what was it? 2 years? C'mon now, that’s bull shit.

But so much money! A hundredth of that would change most people's lives and for somebody in the third world, a thousandth would be riches beyond belief.

Considering that she was selling her virtue for a few hundred quid a shot not that long ago, she should be very happy indeed.

It is a huge ammount of money. When is enough enough? Paul worked his entire life to get to where he is right now and for some trick to just rip him off like that. There should be a law protecting people from scum like her.

Poor old Macca! Such a good boy and she hurt him soooo much! And now he is left penniless! Well, how about giving some concerts to kids in Darfur? Oh, and she gave him another child! Whose is the child???? definitely not his because he was busy crying after his beloved wife, right? I can give him some money in exchange for some recordings of music - must admit, however, he was not my favourite of the four Beatles!

konto usunięte

Temat: McCartney and Heather Mills:

I don't even like The Beatles. That is not the point. He has been giving his money away left and right to charities.
Point is - this women did not earn a penny from his fortune, neither did she contribute to his success. If she in fact gave him a child, he should have to pay child alimony, like every other father in the world. That's that. She has no right to his money, no matter how much he is worth. Just because he is filthy rich, doesn't mean that people like her, can just go and use him like that. She got him when he was at a vulnerable stage, after his wife passed away and fucked him. How would you feel, if after 40 years of hard work, coming from absolutely nothing, someone came and robbed you for half of it? I mean seriously?
Now this is someone that will not go broke because of this ordeal, but imagines some poor guy, who barely makes ends meet and after years of hard work, managed to get a house and what not. All of the sudden this thing comes along and gets him for half of it! That's the point.

Ralph, please...! He married HER! Do you mean he is retarded or what? Besides, we all take risks and pay for our decisions, isn't it so? At least she is a clever girl - I guess this from what you are saying here in this thread. I must have missed all this exciting news about the couple and their divorce (?).

Sorry, must add this however much I hate using filthy words : "She, this cruel girl fucked him while he, our poor boy, was lying there and crying after Linda." I like that!Wendy Tweed edytował(a) ten post dnia 18.03.08 o godzinie 17:14

No, I don't think he is retarded. Don't mistake love for mental retardation. Besides, how is getting married a license to fuck someone out of their earnings?
Besides, we all take risks and pay for our >decisions, isn't it so?

Sure it is, why is it that the law is for people who are doing the fkn and not those who are getting fkd?
Not very blind, this justice lady?

>At least she is a clever girl - I guess this from >what you

Clever? No, I wouldn't call her that. Since when are we giving positive reinforcement for something so evil? What's next? Oh he married her, signed her up for a life insurance and then killed her... but since he left no trace! Kudos to him! You go mr. smarty killer you! Job well done! That's great logic.

You know, I could care less about celebrities or other people's lives in general... but cmon now. It's like telling an abused woman, that just got the shit kicked out of her by her husband - "hey! you married him! what are you retarded?"Rafal Wolk edytował(a) ten post dnia 18.03.08 o godzinie 17:39

Rafał, I know you have a biiiig heart. But, for one thing, tabloid journalists write that what they are paid for. If I were your enemy and had more money than you I could let the world know what a bad man you are within a day or two. Personally I know neither him nor her, never caught her doing anything bad so why should I copy other people's opinion. There is a lovely novel "VILE BODIES" written by Evelyn Waugh, worth reading in the context of this threat.

The other problem you mentioned, i.e. improving the law with regard to e.g. wife battering and other kinds of, say, crime within a family, might be, or rather is, an interesting subject indeed.
As for Macca, he is probably having a glass of perfect wine now and all happy that he didn't have to give her more. Sorry for not showing any compassion for him. I just think they deserved each other.Wendy Tweed edytował(a) ten post dnia 18.03.08 o godzinie 20:43

I know I've said this before but I'm surprised she got what she did. As far as I'm concerned, she didn't have a leg to stand on.

Thanks

On a serious note though...

From what I understand, she got a load of cash plus a house. It was worth 25million, wasn't it?
The child was awarded 35,000 per year in maintenance....

So, why couldn't the judge simply award the child and HM 35,000 each and a house. They'd have a roof over their heads and money for food and for the kids nappies and school uniforms.

A second point is that HM's earning potential has been boosted thanks to her marriage. She should be forced to pay PM a percentage of any future money in showbusiness/book sales, etc.

OK, it isn't workable, but I think you get my point.

I believe in Poland the division of the goodies during a divorce is done in a different way. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I know in a situation where the bloke had money and the woman "married in", it looks like this: the woman gets half of what was earned from the moment they were together and has no legal right to anything earned before they met. Sth like that.

To me this seems very fair. It's absolutely bananas that a Heather Mills situation could ever happen; it's clearly batshit and has no place in a supposedly just society.
