Islamic 'Bugs Bunny' programme, featuring Assud the Jew eating rabbit, spreads extremism.

Assud the rabbit vows to "kill and eat Jews" and glorifies the maiming of "infidels" on the Palestinian children's show Tomorrow's Pioneers.

In one episode, Assud admits stealing money and is seen begging for mercy after young viewers and parents phone in demanding to cut off his hands as punishment.

At that point, Saraa, the 11-year-old presenter, intervenes and rules that the bunny should only have his ears severed because he has repented.

The rabbit, played by a costumed actor, is one of the main characters on the show broadcast in Gaza by the al-Aqsa channel, which is otherwise known as Hamas TV.

Wow. These shows are amazing. Spreading the message of resistance throughout an otherwise hopeless region is brilliant. When you are twelve and all you know is violence and despair, the voice of an oppressed nation speaks loudly through a rabbit.

I'm just curious…is it just as brilliant and amazing as it is strapping a vest loaded with explosives to a mentally retarded individuals and remotely blowing them up ? …or brainwashing kids to do that? What makes me really wonder is if blowing yourself up and a great promise of 77 or so virgins is so enticing to young man (wonder what women are promised) why is the leadership of Hamas not lining up and doing it to be the example to the said young men……Or is it just hypocrisy proving (again) to be universal….

Aha, but wise leaders are required to lead the resistance. God selected them to do that job. However, their thoughts are with all of the heroic martyrs as the latter die in glory.

OK, it's apparent how you feel about the issue. Hamas are not great spiritual leaders and I certainly don't agree with their 'resistance' tactics, but if you were Palestinian and your whole family was blown up (by the occupation - not martyrs) what would you do with your life? Just sit there and get @#$% on every day? No, you would probably come up with some clever revenge and maybe join a group with some muscle, right? For every martyr and suicide bomb, there is a well trained ARMY at the border ready to open fire on civilians. Is that more to your liking?
