I (almost) never read them and I believe no one should.

I never read them. Ever. Which is why I can't use my iphone properly. Life is too short. Producing those instructions must be the worst writing job in the world.

I check on EVERYTHING I buy.

When it comes to grocery products, it's not only the "best before" date that I check but ingredients - wherever I see animal fat or some sythetic stuff used in I refuse to buy it - that's probably the reason why I spend much cash on food...

Other things?
Sure, probably anything that has instructions is what I read (and I like the most when the instructions are in different languages ;-P)

BTW. what are the safe ways of cleaning your keyboard of bread crumbs, hair, eyelashes, tiny bits of chocolate, and dust?

2. Compressed air works fine as long as you comply with rule #1.
