how bad is it in Genoa, Jarek?It's bad bad actually. >30C now, was 35C at 4 pm (when I checked), but what really makes me suffer is the humidity.
Now it's 80%. Yesterday was 90%. No point taking a shower - 10 seconds later you're as wet as you were before.

Few of them (lucky gits!) don't suffer heat and are actually enjoying "these pleasant conditions"!

Do you get things done?A few of us are still trying to keep the merry-go-round spinning, but the inertia of the masses is overwhelming. Good thing is that our management's forward thinking hasn't scheduled many deadlines for July and August. Bad thing is that my department is what I call a firefighting brigade (we are activated when things go ugly), so any planning is useless.

We have AC, but in any corporation where security, vital info or timing are of the essence, there usually is no time for relaxation, we all pretty much turn into drones when we cross that door... some of us, fortunately know how to use the system to our advantage. Number crunching all day with your face glued to the monitor is pretty annoying, if it wasn't for that tiny little GL window in the corner of my screen, I'd probably be talking to you in binary code.

You have to... a lot of summer days reach temperatures way over 90F and humidity often stays around 80% to 100%... it's a deadly combo.

Jarek A.:You're damn right. 85% humidity in the morning, combined with a 90 degree heat used to sweep me off my feet. Funnily, it usually got to not more than 50% just a few hours later.
Dry & hot = good.
Humid & hot = not good, not good at all.
In Austin, of course.
