Thanks, but I was asking about the idiom when you have a photograph where the background is more interesting than the person in front

Ah, that :)
More context maybe?

Temat: Help with translation:

There's none.
Sometimes I'm looking at amateurish pics and this expression comes to mind ;)

It's not for work, I just got stuck on it :)

You could say that someone skillfully brings forth the background. Also detail oriented could apply in some cases… I guess it really depends on the context. You could say that an artist or photographer is very three dimensional or that he or she masterfully captures depth.
Background focused (???)… depending on a situation we can really be very flexible with phrasing or describing an individual or we could focus on the actual image that is being described.

Planning on any non-Warsaw language courses in 2009?

No prob! Maybe, who knows what’s going to happen when we arrive. Things change more often than not, as much as we have some sort of a plan, I know how things work our, or not sometimes. I do have family in Wroclaw and in the general area and absolutely love the city.

edit:

I've also worked in photography for years, so I am pretty familiar with its terminology.

How about something like stealing the picture?

Temat: Help with translation:

I personally wouldn’t use “stealing the picture” – “stealing the spotlight”
“Neutralizing the forefront”, enhancing, overpowering, bringing out… etc…
Usually when using “stealing” you may want to follow it up with a more of an abstract term – stealing – moment, spotlight, time etc etc… otherwise it sounds like someone has taken it with out asking ;)
