O.K., how would you say, for example in a nightclub:

'Do you come here often?'

'Have I seen you somewhere before?'

"Do you come here often?"

- Ile kosztowaly twoje silikonowe pompony?

"Have I seen you somewhere before?"

- Ile ogorkow zmiescisz w buzi na raz?

Rafal Wolk:
As you know, everything depends on the context so an alternative version might as well be:
"Do you come here often?"

Czy te majtki będą pasowały na mnie?
>"Have I seen you somewhere before?"

Dlaczego się tak pan gapi na mój ogórek?

Yes... off course, I just thought about the more straight to the point answer.
We could use variations such as:

"Jak Ci smakuje moj ogorek"

or

"Czy przeszkadzal by Ci ogorek mojego kolegi?"

Not to mention "kiszony" i "świeży ogórek".

Thank you. I believe these phrases could come in handy.

How about:

"Would you like to see me again."

"Have you gat a sister? My friend might like to meet her."

Not to mention "kiszony" i "świeży ogórek".

Kiszony will definitely apply more when addressing an older individual.

Ładnie zapachniesz. Czy biegałaś?
"Have you gat a sister? My friend might like to meet her."

"Have you gat a sister? My friend might like to meet her."
>Well, in some situations it may also mean:

" Moja siostra to gad? A mojemu przyjacielowi sie podobała."

Just dug out this thread because I'm exasperated. How would you translate the following dialogue into Polish, without making it sound stupid:

-The subcutaneous...

-Do you know what that means, Derek?
-Yeah, I do. "Under the skin."

It's a couple of movie subtitles. As far as I know, the only word for 'subcutaneous' is 'podskórny'. To make it worse, later on the girl starts whinging that for once the guy (Derek) could pretend he doesn't know what it means, just to make her happy.

I guess I just have to leave it sounding silly. Aaargh!

If there's no other reference to it, you could substitute, or have Derek's knowledge tested on another word from the text.

Thanks, Keith. Yeah, I'll try to sort something out. Trouble with subtitles is that you only have two lines, 38 characters in each and one opportunity to make it sound right. But thanks anyway, for a while I felt shut in a box about it.

Yipee! I can also say 'hypodermiczny'. It sounds just as stupid, but at least not tautologic ;)

Call me lazy but I'm stuck with the expression "mistrz drugiego planu".

Any suggestions, please?
