What do you think of the gothic period?

And... tourist marvel at this building... but is this in fact the most hideous building you've ever seen?

It's not pretty, but I can see why tourists marvel at it so much. It's said to be the biggest gothic pile of bricks put together to form a church.

Here's a much more attractive example: the Town Hall, notice the way it elegantly fits in with the architectural structure of the street in spite of its gothic lines.

I'm not really into architecture. However, the Gothic period is gorgeous. If I was a gazillionare, I would have a Gothic house commissioned complete with gargoyles and pointy pinnacles and other such fun stuff.

Pretty impressive, even in photos. Looks especially great after dark with artsy lighting and stuff... Actually I've only seen it after dark hehe Been to Milan many times but always in business.

Living in Toruń, I'm pretty surrounded and even overwhelmed by Gothic and Neo-Gothic buildings :)

However, my favourite architecture style is Art Nouveau (known in Polish as "secesja"), I find all the red brick walls, steeples, arches and narrow windows so romantic, moody, mysterious and... cooling! Sitting in a cafe or pub located in a typical Gothic ceiling you don't need air conditioning to forget about the unbearable summer heat outdoor.

PS: Steve, did you know there is Arthus' Court in Toruń as well?
