I think the BBC did a great job at summarizing his career. As per myself, I was introduced to Carlin’s comedy through my friend’s parents while still in High School. I was always into stand up, but not until I discovered Carlin and of course Richard Pryor that I fully grasp how logic, truth and pretty much reality is all that a good comic needs to make a great skit. He was well known for being anti establishment, very anti religious and a huge supporter of the freedom of speech. In he often ridiculed laws that prohibit the use of certain phrases, words or even ideas in the mainstream media. I think if you go through some of the links that I have provided you with above, you will have a better understanding of what I am trying to say here haha…

United States is known and recognized world wide as the “Land of the free” where in reality, a lot of freedoms that people here often speak about, are very limited or practically not in existence, Carlin was one of the few who for many, many years kept sticking his fingers into that sore wound, not letting it scab. His approach towards religion and fanaticism is pretty much legendary in the comic community.

Funny fucking guy… 71… not a bad age to kick it… but I am sure he still had plenty of juice in him.

For those who have seen the movie “Dogma”, he played the archbishop who introduced “Buddy Christ”.
