I'm used to call my hometown this way sometimes, but I never paid attention to its short-name as above.

1. Write down 3 towns that have had some impact on your life.
Zielona Góra (Grünberg;), my hometown, my family, my roots
Wroclaw, my present life, I belong here
Świebodzin (Schwiebus), my late grandparents' town - I spent my childhood holidays there, a lot of memories and dreams
2. Can you recall a situation when you completely lost control? What happened?
At my first (!!!!!) driving lesson - I drove into a car parked in a car park.
3. If you were to work as a volunteer for a certain period of time what sort of activities would you do?
Cleaning lawns and forests of the rubbish there.
4. Does your family have a saying or a phrase that you yourself also keep repeating? What is it?
My dad has a lot of cliches he repeats often.
They are said with special intonation and in particular context.
5. What is one thing that you have learnt recently?

1. Write down 3 towns that have had some impact on your life. Please explain.
Manchester: the town I grew up around and the music that provided the soundtrack for my life

Aleksandria: made me see stuff in a different way

Sopot: the beach
2. Can you recall a situation when you completely lost control? What happened?
No
3. If you were to work as a volunteer for a certain period of time what sort of activities would you do?
I'd organise a "walk against stupidity" and set off from Sopot and walk as far as I could around the coast of Europe.
4. Does your family have a saying or a phrase that you yourself also keep repeating? What is it?
My dad used to say: you'll do (X) and that's the end of it! And I find myself repeating it to my son.. I wish I didn't.
5. What is one thing that you have learnt recently?

That "ma ma hu hu" in Chinese means "so so" in English. But literally "ma ma hu hu" means "horse horse tiger tiger" and that if you change the intonation, "ma ma" can mean "mother mother":)

My friend and her family were sent to china in diplomatic matters before the Olympics took place :D

it was fun to hear her stories about that strange language and astounding culture :)

the Sopot beach is quite ordinary (and terribly crowded!), I prefer more deserted ones;)

It is crowded June thru August/September. Any other time of a year you can often find yourself alone there.

Even in the summer it's enough to walk 5 minutes west of the molo, toward Gdynia, to find plenty of sand only for yourself.
