Steve Jones:
1. How would you define "success"?

Happy family life, no two ways about it.
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?

When it comes to graffiti, I've seen a lot of nice stuff in visual terms. The best text (or a mixture of text and an image) I remember was actually on a T-shirt: the UK 'Switch' card logo with the the word 'Skint' underneath.
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?

Can't underestimate the University of Life, though I'd like to pay due respect to formal education for forcing some discipline on me and teaching me how to analyse things (to the best of my ability).

4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Turquoise.

5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

Canillas de Albaida - a lovely, quiet Spanish village east of Malaga. Mountains, narrow, curvy roads, loads of orange trees and stray cats. Didn't matter that it was half-owned by German and half by British retirees ;)

1. How would you define "success"?
Something you feel good about ...
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?

I don't really remember anything interesting, and the illiterate rubbish I look at every day is not very artistic.
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?

I think both, but the University of Life seems to be more important for me - I still learn something every day .....
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Green.
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

London in 1995 - it was a fantastic place full of interesting people, completely different to the places that I had seen before. I had a great holiday there for 2 months, made many international friends, and visited many places. And besides I was very young then....Małgorzata Mackiewicz edytował(a) ten post dnia 04.05.08 o godzinie 00:26

Steve Jones:
1. How would you define "success"?

There's a number of possible takes on this question. For example, how do you know when you've been successful. Or, perhaps, what is the best technique to use in order to achieve success.

So, I'll have a go at answering both:

How do you know when you've been successful?

When you're content with what you have and no longer think about what you haven't

What does success mean in terms of its achievement?

The ability to join the dots, to see the connection between random events and draw conclusions to your own advantage

That's my best shot at it.
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?

In France, C'etait si bien de s'aimer sur le Parc des Volcans Which for me encaptured a kind of longing for love-lost and a celebration of a special moment gone forever yet always remembered.

In Poland, "Bóg nie żyje - Nietzche" "Nietzche nie żyje - Bóg" I sort of liked the irreverant irony in it.

In England, Wankers FC which I just kind of liked.
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?

The University of Life seems to be winning out and I'd back that one up. One of the great advantages of the University of Life is the onus on the ability to act and think independently and according to the circumstances. Such skills could be included in the school curricullum. However, they aren't. They are, in Poland, replaced by the somewhat insane chasing of qualifications, day studies and weekend studies sometimes... And then a "Marketing Specialist" at the age of 25... Err, sorry pal, don't think so. You ain't qualified from the other university yet to be a specialist in anything other than daydreams...
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Overall, green probably... or blue.
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why

So many places... But probably, Clermont Ferrand in France not so much in terms of the place itself but the life forming experiences that I had there as a student... plus the Cote d'Azur, Paris, Egypt and The Salford Cresent Pub for the same reasons...

1. How would you define "success"?

a deep feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?

yes, plenty, but I prefer vlepkas as they do less damage to the objects they are applied to
actually it hurts me physically when I see a nice building with graffiti on it
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?
haha, the latter one, though I'm made to look here that I'd choose the first one
actually the happier stage of my life started when I graduated...
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

as blue as forget-me-nots
I saw plenty of them in my parents' garden
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

haven't got one yet
so far probably the underwater reef in the Red Sea
most tranquille experience
but also lakes as dawn

Luv this description, Steve. :) I think it's a good attempt to grasp and convey in words of what it is.

1. How would you define "success"?
They say that success is a ladder that cannot be climbed with your hands in your pockets. True enough. But one should also remember that success makes a fool look wise.
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?
For me graffiti is very much like amateur poetry. The latter seems to be less harmful as one doesn't have to read it while graffiti artists just push it straight into your eyes and make the ugliest parts of cities and towns look even uglier and sadder. Yeah, sometimes one of them comes up with a catchy slogan, but nothing more.

3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?

Formal education is a must in certain professions - if not most of them. Wouldn't like, for instance, to be operated on by a doctor who didn't bother to go to school. IMHO, good formal education should be the starting point followed by life experience.
Both are equally important.
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Blue
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

Kraków. I could easily live there. I am Polish and Kraków is, at least for me, the place where one can feel the soul of Poland. There are also some sweet memories connected with the city.Wendy Tweed edytował(a) ten post dnia 04.05.08 o godzinie 12:17

Well, I know it's not Friday anymore, but, as they say, better late than never... ;)
1. How would you define "success"?
It is when you are happy with your life, and you've achieved something you can be proud of.

2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?
Well, no, not really - I would remember if otherwise :)

3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?
Formal education and University of Life. Education can give you some basics, but noone can teach you how to live, you have to find out on your own. Even if it has to be learn the hard way.

4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?
Green

5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?
Well... It was somewhere in the Netherlands... I don't remember the name of that place, but I had my best time there during all day sport activities (i.e. beach volleyball, rafting, soccer, rope bridge building and many more). And I've met a lot of people from all over the world.

1. How would you define "success"?
"A result which makes one happy", I guess.
I know the real meaning of the success, but it is not funny enough to mention it in here.
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and tought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?
"Hmmm... that's not bad!" is not enough for me to remember the things.
And 02:30 AM is too late to remember: "Oh my gawd, that's friggin' awsum!" kinda thing.
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?
Both could be cool. But if not 100% each, I say 50% each, for now.
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?
Black.
It sucks in and sums it all up.
I also suck
(in).
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?
Ölü Deniz in Fethiye.
Because it has such a beautiful and unique beach, coast, landscape, sea and so on...ilter Kalkanci edytował(a) ten post dnia 05.05.08 o godzinie 02:48

I hate all graffiti. Except on lavatory walls.

3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?

University of Life, every time, except it's always worth exercising your mind to its limit at every opportunity.

4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Ecru

Steve Jones:
1. How would you define "success"?

Being able to do things you like doing in complete comfort and safety.

2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?

Apart from in books of Graffiti, no. What I read was "Ulster says No!", to which someone added "But the Man from Del Monte says YES!, and he's an Orange man!"
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?

Definitely University of Life. Imagine a surgeon saying, "Trust me, I read a book about this, and I bribed the professors into giving me easy questions in my finals!"
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Generally, Royal Blue. Today, Gunmetal Grey.

5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

Rome: Food to die for, friendly people, a relaxed attitude, child-friendly restaurants (in one place, the waiter asked patrons to change tables, as it was easier for us to get the pushchair to their table, and not only did they oblige, but they came and made cooing noises at my son (in a doting way, not like a sarcastic pifeon, I mean that would be just wrong and disturbing!). All this for cheaper than in Poland (providing you didn't have a view of the Trevis fountain while drinking your Cappucino). I've just seen plenty of them walking along the remains of the Berlin Wall.
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take

Both. Nothing more to say...
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?

Fuchsia/magenta and the whole family of cold red shades.
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

Ljubljana. Why? There's so much Art Nouveau, post-Austro-Hungarian glamour and charm of a small town in one place!

Steve Jones:
1. How would you define "success"?
You're asking, among others, a man who just came in with 12 pounds (about 5.5 Kg) of mushrooms. Morels. Just starting.
2. Is there any piece of graffiti you've read and thought "Hmmm... that's not bad!"?
(On a utility building at The University of Michigan): "Traveler's take heed: Do not journey in October."

WHOA!
3. Formal education or the University of Life? What's your take on that?
"A good balance of both..." but not the street culture kind of life education. The kind that develops emotional intel. and understandings. As a matter of fact, I appreciate most differences (sorry Russians), but I am prejudiced against people who don't know what a hardship is. Kick rocks.
4. Pick a colour that would sum you up - what would it be?
I just used some oil pastels earlier, and I mixed the ROY G BIV colors (English language mnemonic device that some would use for remembering the colors of the light spectrum). You get a burning sunset color.
5. What's the best place you've ever visited and why?

I like to walk through the woods at night when it's raining or better, when it's storming.

Next stop: any beach I've been on during a windy sunset after a storm. I'll get an epiphany man.Joj Y. edytował(a) ten post dnia 08.05.08 o godzinie 04:48
