Temat: Fish Fingers
Vaguely related to the "cultural issues" postings...The other week I popped back to Britain for a couple of days and I found myself in the delightful Northern town of Huddersfield. I found myself passing a "Polski Sklep" and found myself walking inside...
Now, I always thought these shops were for the kind of things that Poles like but not readily available, like those yucky gherkins rotting in jars with strange things inside them, the sausages, pierogi, that bread that I think is too dry and doesn't toast well but Poles rave about, that kind of thing...
Imagine my surprise when I look in the freezer and see "Paluszki Rybne". Now, unless I'm very much mistaken, fish fingers originate from Britain, a magnificent culinary invention from the famous Captain BirdsEye! Fish Fingers are readily available in Britain - it's fish finger city! the country is crawling with original fish fingers!
Can someone maybe explain the point of exporting Polish fish fingers to the home of fish fingers?
Has the world gone mad? Or should I just relax, tune it, turn on, and drop out and go with the flow, man?
