About A Boy - Nick Hornby. It's about a boy. If books came in tins it would do what it said on it. I dont think that makes any sense, by the way. And Hotel New Hampshire - for a while I thought a book wasnt a proper book unless it had a bear in it.

I couldn't agree more. Irving is one my favourite writers and Hotel New Hampshire - seems his best piece of work to me... And the bears... yeah...

Is it about Anglo-Saxon literature only?About two years ago I discovered Majgull Axelsson (a Swede) and fell in passionate love with her four books.
When it comes to Anglosphere, I love Tom Stoppard's plays (the one who wrote a screenplay for 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead' with Gary Oldman), and David Lodge.

from world classics - Slaughterhouse 5 by Vonnegut. I like all Vonnegut's books, not so much the topics he wrote about (frequent sci-fi motifs, not my cup of tea at all) but the soul he showed in them.(I edited the previous sentence after realising that I originally wrote it in present simple, still not fully accepted his death)
Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children is I believe my most favorite book from living writers (even tough with a fatwa on his back) - I don't like all of his books (hate Grimus and Fury f.e). My second best from him would be his latest Shalimar the Clown.

no, actually getting it published. I helped out with a nice portion of the US story, plus provided images etc... it's been about five + years in the making hehe...
