Temat: Dirty Warsaw as seen through foreigner's eyes

They do sound a bit stoned, don't they? The only one I half recognised was the British lady (the one with the hairdo, not the wasted-looking one with the kid) and I'm sure this film was made a few years ago.

The American guy who talked about getting ripped off and thrown in the bin has obviously had a bad time of it. Some of those guys are so naive. The pretty-boy who says it's easy to get men here would probably find it easy anywhere. Haven't noticed him in any of the bars - maybe he was just on holiday.

It's worth looking at at some of the other videos on Youtube posted by the same person - it seems that they are all much of a muchness; scruffy Poles, Poles emigrating etc.

Wonder what that's all about...

Thats what I was thinking, here I was, trying to show my wife (NYC native) Warsaw my home town, where we are planing on moving soon... haha.. and this one came up.
I looked at cars in this video (you can see few parked) and they seem to be fairly new, no trabants, or syrenkas hehe...

Today, for the second time in a couple of weeks, I found myself in buses around the southern side of the city centre, i.e. Piękna, Krucza, Wilcza, etc. It is actually a pretty smart area. I assume that this is what they rebuilt just after the war before they ran out of patience/money/whatever.

Unfortunately, most people (like me) rarely need to go there. We just see the main rectangle around PKiN.

I like Aleje Ujazdowskie, just where the embassies are located and Łazienki :)Alicja Efejska edytował(a) ten post dnia 17.02.08 o godzinie 19:05

The rebuilt what could be rebuild, most of the buildings in Warsaw were not in such good shape after the war. So the rest was just patched up without much planning. The result is such that Warsaw has no real city center. One could think that Berlin was also affected by the WWII, but most of the districts outside of the main center were left more or less intact. Then the Germans that are not that fast, still managed to fix Potsdamer Platz, Pariser Platz and around in some 10 years after the reunification. In Warsaw endless discussion about the central area around PKIN is still going on.
