Temat: Changing the world one person at a time...

I just received the word from a good friend of mine whom I’ve done a lot of events with in the NYC area who now lives in Israel. She was one of the key people in putting together a music event - Middle East Tek … a very first ever electronic music event which included crews from Israel, Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan… it took place last weekend in Jordan and it went off without a problem! I will post pics as soon as I get them myself.

Here is a perfect example of what happens when we take away politics, religion and historically based nonsense and replace it with music, DIY and pure and unconditional love for the entire human kind.

These young people in a matter of a single year have accomplished what politicians and spiritual leaders have failed miserably at for decades.

Mind you Rafal there have been such attemts before. Actually, they do it now and again and then the words of love and peace are spread by the media and then everything goes back to normal practice: the war.:(

That reminds me of Leila Arab, the Iranian-born musician and DJ from the UK. She's not too politically involved (apart from the fact that she's now professionally known as just 'Leila' for obvious reasons), but her music is great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvOlArifQMA

I love it when people fly in the face of "political wisdom" and do something positive and make it happen. It's one of the great things we can do. It's a pity that more people don't do it

Main difference is that this is an ongoing project and these guys on several occasions already had their equipment wrecked by the military police, had been arrested, had their skulls cracked and had been dragged away ... but they keep on rockin' it!
They are also doing this for free for people with their own resources not to make a name for themselves for putting something together, but for the message that it carries.

My friend happens to be a reporter for an independent Israeli news paper as well, so their efforts do make an impact on more than just a local scale. This is something that has been in the making for over a year now and now that this one went off with flying colors, they are already starting to organize the next year's event.

This was a combined effort with crews driving caravans of sound all the way from places like France, Italy and other far off parts... just to show the world that it can be done.

I think we live in times where this sort of action is more and more called for, omitting the obvious and going through direct human contact is probably the only way anything can be successfully achieved.

Here is the official flyer

There is no better feeling than showing people that impossible is nothing.

The hardest part is to get a group of people that actually care enough to be willing and not be scared to sacrifice some things to gain something much grater, even if it's not in any material form.
I am so proud of this girl haha... this is a true achievement.

Are they going to smash this wall that separates Arabs from Israelis? This kind of action would impress the whole world and make the parties involved in the conflict re-examine their ways of thinking.

Well... why don't you think about your question then think about what took place, then think about a simple question - "Who benefits from war?"

These people smashed these walls already by risking their freedom, health and their lives and creating this event. I think that’s Smashing with a capital “S”.

I'm sure it would impress Israeli Defense Minister.

Alicja, how on Earth you could ask this question, I don't know.
Have you read/seen ANY news about what's going on in the Middle East?

Yes, all the time. Which party do you support?

Yes, when you insist that the walls should be there...
