I was just wondering how many Canadians do we have here?

I'm in part Canadian.

Born in Poland, left with my family to Canada when I was 11, and spend 14 years.

Became Canadian Citizen .. I actually don't remember. But i think somewhere between 22-24. And when I was 25.. I packed up and.. headed to Poland. now 30 on the way, and still here.

General location of my stay in Canada was Winnipeg (don't go there, really, boring as hell - you've been warned.. OK, not as much as Saskatoon, but still high up on the list)

There was a Canadian here some time ago.

Anglo is not as busy as it was, and we don't have so many 'natives'.

Two states. I vote in Michigan, and I'm never far from Canada here - Ontario, though. I go to Windsor once in a while, Toronto less often. I was involved in some athletics for a time in Saskatchewan. "Boring?" Yes. But that's what whiskey is for.

I very much like visiting Canada.

Maybe we could drum up some Canadians somehow.Joj Y. edytował(a) ten post dnia 12.02.10 o godzinie 20:45

Hey fellow Canucks :)

Is this group still around? I'm a native Canadian, born and bred in London, Ontario.

If there is anyone still out there, let me know :)

Is it better place for you here in Poland?

When I read that post I thought the same, is it better to live here in Poland? Cause I don't think so. If I had a chance, I would go to Canada and never come back:)

Do you actually know Canada, or just the idea of 'abroad'?

This is almost the only place in Canada I haven't been to yet,but one day I just have to see it, so, for the time being, Vancouver is my favorite one.

I've been to Canada few times, and although it's not a "paradise" living there is much easier than in Poland...

I will admit, I have been thinking in circles with regards to where it is "better".

Both places have their positives.

In Canada, live was easier. And due to that a tad too ... lazy of sorts. But you could have anything you wanted, even if you didn't make lots of money.

The negatives, the distances. In Winnipeg... well without a car, it was hard to survive. And the other negative.. food + lack of motion.. result.. at one point over 120+.. it was a challenge to be slim.

In Poland. I will admit, the girls. Generally speaking how they move and behave. I admit it was the reason I came back, though it didn't work out. But that time gave me time to live in Poland, and decide that one way or another this place was better. For me.

With regards to the fact that the everything is closer. You can walk everywhere, and you feel comfortable when you did. In Canada, when you walk on sidewalks, you feel like it was an afterthought.

However we all know there are plenty of negatives for living in Poland.

Still. I find this place better for me (with regards to health) then Canada. Down to 92. And most of that was simply eating normal food and walking.

But I have to say that I do not feel that I am Polish. I do feel that I am, at times, a total stranger to this place and peoples behaviors. But then 1/2 my life I spent there so.

ha... way too many things that stand behind that statement. For the most part it's an incredible progressive and liberal city with a strong focus on arts and entertainment. On any given weekend you'll catch some of the most amazing artists from all walks of life doing what they do best for peanuts. It's an eye candy, it's a non-stop eargasm and a bag full of funkotron, bass and other such amazing madness. Punk, funk, hip hop, tech... whatever's your bag, they got it!
If you like graffiti, well, it's legal there and it's displayed beautifully all around the city... very laid back, relaxed and open minded people. For example, on Sundays during the late spring and through out the summer, at the foothills of Mount-Royal [the mountain by the city] people gather around and bring drums and other such noise making devices and bang away all day long while kids jump around like mad and chase each in the sun. Hundreds if not thousands of people drumming to the same beat. It's a beautiful thing. Plus, if you like to get away now and again, all you'd have to do is drive in any direction away from the city and you'll find yourself submerged in Canadian tundra with thickets so dense you'd need a machete just to get through. Huge beautiful lakes, rivers etc etc... it's a great place... if you like whale watching, all you need to do is drive East and you'll hit some amazing spots where you can canoe surrounded by these beasts, or if you don't have the balls for that, you can take one of many whale watching cruises. I could go on, but I think you get the point ;)

Thanks, very good to know it. I believe I will visit Canada and Montreal someday as my uncle lives there for years but actually thaught that Toronto or USA aare more interesting. And the whales? Man, that's the best thing for me on the planet, I love oceans, I love dolphins, I've never seen a living whale, great! Thanks again.Rafał D. edytował(a) ten post dnia 09.06.10 o godzinie 19:32

My next door neighbor: I think he bought half of Canada, and parts of Florida. A successful professional athlete here, he spent the best part of his career in Toronto. He bought an old Boy Scout campground north of there. 700 acres, actually.
