I couldn't get what you mean.
Was that for "what really gets me is...." thread?

But it doesn't "get" me ;)

I thought a geeky question about trolling is more in place...

Then no, trolling is done publicly in internet... if I can't see the ex's comment, it's not a trolling.

Btw, my external-usb-drive "broke". Windows recognizes it, it has power, it hums, but the explorer won't open. It's just stuck, doesn't show anything...

Well, can this be fixed or do I need to let someone extract the data?
And where in Warsaw would I find such a reliable service?

Have you tried it with another computer / operating system?
That's the easiest thing to do.

Is it just a box with a regular IDE/SATA 3.5" HDD inside?

The 'controller' in the box might have failed... means the HDD is not 'reachable' by the operating system - this is highly likely in your case.

If it's not a proprietary drive inside, the next thing after trying it with another computer is, breaking the box and taking the drive out, and plugging it to one of the empty IDE/SATA cables in your desktop computer.

What's the brand and model of this sucker?

Yes. The other computer was a bit better, accepted the drive, but then Explorer crashed just the same.

Yes, I guess so.

Sounds like it. It was hit by someone known to this forum, unfortunately. By mistake that is ;)

I doubt it, but I could manage the procedure...

Toshiba. 60GB. USB 2.0. That's the info I have at hand...

If it is a 'slim' type drive, then it's not the regular, 3,5" IDE/SATA drive. Might be 1,8" or 2,5", and I don't know what type of plug it might have inside the box.

Is it similar to this?:

You could at least post a photo! :)
Maybe it's better not to touch it... you may end up with a complete mess.
I can't help you, I'm afraid.İlter K. edytował(a) ten post dnia 13.05.10 o godzinie 10:07

Crushing oilseeds to expel oil hapens in machines called expellers or presses.
Besides oil there is byproduct called with different names - if from rapeseed - it is rapeseed cake, usually from press.

How would you describe byproduct achieved in the process of crushing with usage of expeller machine?

Rapeseed marc? Probably too obvious to be correct but I thought I'd give it a go.

dreg
mantle
integument

One of these, depending on its consistency.

... but of course, unless it has a very specific terminology.İlter K. edytował(a) ten post dnia 24.05.10 o godzinie 18:01

Now we know who's making methamphetamine in our bathtubs. ;)

Maybe the question does have a very specific terminology relationship to how they make biodiesel fuel, and that makes a difference in the skojarzenia we make. I guess the "byproduct" is glycerin. We have or had competing inventions about how to do to the thing right. Glycerin. It forms a sludge.

I think the thing they want to ultimately achieve is ethyl?

Skojarzenia only. I only know something about how they would get some medications to stick together, and I'm not sure it's your answer.

It's hard to waste a coconut. Don't like my pharmacology? Then we turn to the guy on adjoining land and his farm. He says something about MEAL. This is Michigan, though, so thank you too, Google, and in that case we would have Copra, or Copra meal. If you don't accept this offer for my price of 500,000 USD then I have to bow out. It's only the geek challenge as impetus for trying anyways. :)

Have fun with your expellers :)

You're trying to "harsh my gig" for the 500,000.

Hehe...true, I don't belong here except as a customer. But I got in over my head and I couldn't get out. Now I'm slooowwly backing out the door. :)))

I thought this thread was one of the least involving ones.
And I thought `geek` is a technology/computer related adjective.
