Temat: All time top 10 fave tunes

I was going to wait for the results of the all time favourite British comedy sketches before posting this one, but I'd rather do it now in case I forget.

Please provide your own personal charts of 10 songs that you believe are the best ever. Since I know how difficult it is to confine your list into just 10 positions, I'm going to allow a bonus*, 11th position for that one and only tune that didn't make it to the top ten but you just cannot imagine your list without.

I go for (what are for me) catchy tunes. I don't need any politics or intelligence in the lyrics, just music which makes me want to whistle, hum or sing.
I won't say dance as I'm the architypal bar-propper-upper in clubs.

I like songs written by Burt Bacharach, many by Gary Barlow (the fat one from Take That who did most of the singing and song writing), Oasis (Noel Gallagher has an ear for a tune), many songs from the 60s and 70s that you'd hear on 'Classic Gold' type radio stations, and some that I've been exposed to during my time in an ice-skating show (selling tickets!) and living in France and Poland such as Patricia Kaas, Axelle Red, Myslovitz and Yanni.

I don't really look out for new music, so I know that my tastes are limited, and my favourites depend on my mood, or whether I simply haven't heard a song for ages.

First time I've heard it. At least I now know where the guy with the moustache came from.

It is fun to watch, if 'fun' is the right word, and maybe it would grow on me. Yet, it seems specific to a musical era during which I didn't listen to music.
However, because of my dad's middle-of-the-road tastes and Radio 2 there is some older music that I do feel in tune with.

It is fun to watch, if 'fun' is the right word, and maybe it would grow on me. Yet, it seems specific to a musical era during which I didn't listen to music.

I could watch it again and again and again without ever getting tired of it.

I doubt that it would grow on me so much. I wouldn't close my eyes and play it through headphones, which I do with my favourite stuff.
However, if I was in a bar and someone stuck it on the jukebox I really think I wouldn't mind, particularly now that I'm 'acquainted' with it.
