At one time we could play in pick-up games with several NBA players here, but other very talented guys too. They're scattered now. Years ago my brother was in demand by some of them in their summer league teams for "toughening." He could dunk behind his ear. Glenn R., Jeff G., C. Hightower, those guys. Charlie B.'s (Bucks) dad was an NBA caliber player, and he was on those teams. Mateen C. Dozen guys like that. You could walk into the gym and you're on a team with NBA guys. then it got to be where some guy's always gonna go to their car "go get my gun," and they would! hehe

I would pretty much just run around in circles in those games. Average. :)

Glen R, what ever happened to the man? I remember his early days in Miami, then LA and then when he became huge in Charlotte. The Hornets were building a strong team in the 90s, pity they had to trade Zo to Miami and then Larry "Grandma" to NY.

I would give a lot ($24,99!) for a chamce to run in circles with some of the guys you mentioned. Guns would not be required though.

He's around. I think he finished up getting traded to the Knicks, Rockets in one of those three-player things. Then he just didnt get ofered a contract. But he made millions and he's one of those smart guys so they're okay. Lots of brothers and sisters and extended family. He and Mo' P and a couple of those other guys went to the same high school, same block. Others just a couple kilometers away and everyone just played from morning til it got dark, and winters in one of the gyms they would open in those days. Now they can't pay for the lights.

I just saw Pistons vs Jazz (Nov 21st). Stuckey, I didn't know he was 6'5'', he sure don't look it. Good kid, he's gonna go far in the league.

I'm hearing that LBJ wants to change his jersey number from 23 to 6 next year. Reason according to LBJ: the number 23 should be retired across the league to honor MJ. No one should ever be allowed to wear 23 again. Nice humble words from a guy who's most likely to be the next player to dominate the game of basketball the way MJ did.

It seems like a sincere and humble idea on his part. I think he's a good young man by nature, no matter what his circumstances are or might have been.

I think the league ought to be prohibited from changing the jersey numbers they sold to people, however (e.g., Kobe Bryant, who changed his own like a version of software, and left (n) fans with obsolete merchandise).

I'm afraid I'm going to have to disallow it. hehe

Oh yes, where do I sign? The players should only be allowed a number change when changing teams. Kobe/Lakers should get all those people their money back, or at least a jersey with the new number. They're (Kobe/Lakers) rich enough to afford it.

Michigan State University is one of the top-five most respected basketball programs in the USA. They start out ranked 1,2 whatever, but they quickly sink to lower a ranking because they lose some. Why? They consistently arrange for themselves only the most brutal schedule. They're too fuckin' much that way.

Did you hear the one about an NBA player that had loaned some money to another NBA player and when the other player wouldn't pay the loan, the first player walked into the locker room with a gun to demand his money back, but funnily enough the other player was carrying a gun of his own...

I guess that was the last time we saw Gilbert Arenas play any basketball other than that with inmates.

Still they're not AS bad as the Nets. I think the only net the Nets have seen this season was the one in their name :)
